If you are a first year teacher, new to teaching biology, going on maternity leave, or overwhelmed by too many responsibilities and classes to prep for, this resource was written for you. Designing curriculum for an entire unit, let alone an entire course like this one, that is organized, engaging, activity-based, and standards-aligned can be exhausting.
Especially if you are in a school with little to no science budget like I have been, it can be so hard to have a hands-on course without breaking your own bank to provide it for your students. I’ve spent over 6 years creating this curriculum and nearly 800 hours perfecting it for you. With this curriculum I had a 96% pass rate on the state standardized End-of-Course exam for non-honors students and a 100% pass rate for honors students. This was at a South Carolina Public School with over 50% of the students being below the poverty line. My average score on the EOC (all 200+ students combined that I taught during my time there) was a 90%.
I believe this success is due to multiple factors, but I attribute a lot of it to the comprehensive and creative nature of the packet curriculum that I have designed.
